On the morning of August 21, 2024, Visa hosted the first Digital Government Forum in Vietnam, reaffirming Visa's position as a partner and advocate of the country's digital transformation agenda. The Forum was attended by ministries, branches, banks, payment intermediary companies, and leading technology companies in Vietnam, in accordance with the Strategy for the Development of Vietnam's Information and Communications Infrastructure for the Period 2021-2050, which emphasised the focus on building Vietnam's digital government in economic and social areas.
During the ceremony, Visa and EPAY signed a memorandum of agreement to promote digital payments in Vietnam. This collaboration will simplify tax payments, public services, and public transportation, setting the groundwork for more convenience, safety, and innovation. Visa and EPAY will also collaborate to explore and create new initiatives to encourage digital transformation in the public sector through Visa's Government Solutions business.
EPAY, a prominent financial technology and payment intermediary, has been licensed by the State Bank of Vietnam since 2018.
